Selecting Quality Furniture and our July Sale!!

Hello!

Have you been following along with the happenings of the month? We’ve been hosting social hours, throwing a giant sale, and gearing up for our latest service offering: Design Days – a ½ day design session at a flat rate. More to come on all of the dynamic ways we use our studio space, but for now we want to talk more about how mega great this 30% off inventory sale is!!

If you follow us, you probably know this, but just in case you don’t know yet, let us tell you the why and how we choose what we choose to represent in the studio. Quality quality quality. And just what does quality mean for furniture? How is it achieved? Why does it matter? Is it worth it? I’m a believer that part of our role as your designer if to provide education on how our home lives impact us + industry knowledge.

So please do read on >>

(A glimpse at two vignettes we’ve curated from some of our favorite pieces in Studio)

First I’ll answer what does it mean and does it matter -from our perspective. To us: quality means long lasting, a level of sophistication, attention to care in the design and creation of and lastly, the thoughtfulness on non-toxic materials. And to us: yes, it does matter! Why? Because when we invest in quality pieces of furniture, or anything of quality really, we are investing in something that will be a more permanent fixture in our lives. There’s a theory called place-attachment and theory called permanence. The two of these concepts combined create a more grounding environment with higher sense of security. Collecting items that you are attached to, and items that are of quality last longer- creating that sense of permanence around you, again, achieving that more grounded, non-disposable environment.

How is quality achieved in terms of making furniture? Attention to detail of course! Great design, of course! Looking at every connection point, whether it be in the joinery of the frame, how the seams come together, the webbing support of the seat, or how the fabric lays over the frame – it all matters. The more details that are thought through and crafted by hand, the higher the quality. We’ve turned to only the vendors who craft, carve, and seam together by hand – slowing the pace and handling with care. We’ve also turned to vendors who are conscious about the sourcing of materials, and the finishes of such materials, lowering the number of toxic finishes and creating a healthier piece of furniture.

So is it worth it? I’d say so if you’re one to contemplate and create a holistic environment that optimizes your whole person well-being. Sure, it’s an investment, but one truly for your benefit.

THIS is why our 30% off is so stellar!! Prices you can’t say no to, without the compromise of long lasting. Dare we also bring up the point of lead times right now?!! We’re still in the longest lead time phase we’ve ever seen! With no signs of it getting better in the very near future – everything we have in studio is ready to head onto that truck and into your home (or anyone you know 😉) *If you’re curious as to why the long lead times, give us a shout! We can spill some of the juicy – not so juicy - news.

Hope you all have a great weekend, and please remember – we’re here to be your resource for all things design, home, and the psychology behind it all.
